Hey, kids! Didja miss me? Mas love out to kim and jen. You kids rock in a major way. :) So...my weekend...was FABULOUS. Here's the scoop: I took my History mid-term on Friday. My feeling is that I did well, but I'll know for sure this week. After class, I drove out to see my folks cuz I borrowed their cell phone. They had some church-meeting to attend, but were supposed to be home at 8:30. I arrived at their place at 8:10 and waited...they didn't get home until 9:15. No big deal, right? Well no it wasn't, except that I started to worry about them because my mother is never late for anything. Once I figured out that they were not dead on the side of the road, all was well. I drove up to see John on Saturday morning and got there just after noon. On Saturday, we just hung around Santa Cruz, window-shopped and went to dinner at a cool place on the marina. Sunday we spent the day in Monterey. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium (which was very groovy) and again walked around a lot. We ate dinner at Bubba-Gump's in Monterey and watched the sunset. It was a great trip. John is taking me to VEGAS, BABY for a couple of nights, beginning on Halloween. :) That was one of my birthday surprises. Tee-Hee. I drove home yesterday morning. That was rather entertaining cuz...um...I kind of got lost. Getting to Johns is crazy. Once you get off the main freeway (the 5 fwy), you have to go on 5 different little highways plus other assorted streets. You really have to pay attention to what youre doingwellumat one point I wasnt paying close attention and I missed one of my turn-offs. That only took me out of my way about 5 miles, so no biggy. However, I then totally could not find one of the roads I was supposed to take and I wasted about an hour there. This was an area where the cell phone didnt work, plus there was absolutely NOTHING for miles, so there was no other phone I could use to call John. I did end up finding a pay phone once I got to an actual town, but it was a tad crazy for a little bit there. I got a little stressed because I was supposed to get home in time to go to my dreaded work-related class last night. I hadnt done ANY of my homework because I concentrated on studying for my History mid-term last week and of course didnt do any of it over the weekend. Hey, I took my book to John's; I just didn't open it the whole time I was there...So anyway, I figured Id leave Johns at 8am the latest and get home in time to at least read the chapters of the book I was supposed to read before class. Well, I ended up not getting out of town until 10:30. So I thought, well, I wont go home before class, Ill just go to Burbank and read in a restaurant until class starts. Then I wasted that hour getting lost. So the whole time I was lost, I was fretting over getting to class on time. After a while, I just decided to skip class. Once I made that decision, I could just calm down and relax and the rest of my trip home went fine. That's the scoop. |
