My weekend was great, thanks for asking. I still feel sick and now have an infection in my eyes, but I managed to have a nice weekend anyway. The perfect weather didn't hurt one bit. Saturday I went to the mall where I not only purchased Cathy's birthday gift, but two pair of shoes and a new outfit for myself! Hee. :) Bye-bye, Mr. Tax Refund. It was nice while it lasted. Saturday night I went to Cathy's shin-dig. There were about ten of us, in all. We started with a cocktail at her pad, then went out and partook of a wonderful Japanese dinner, then had cake and champagne back at Cathy's place. All was grand and fun. I was home at about midnight and John was waiting for me. John and I didn't do much on Sunday (well, of course we did that! What are ya, nuts?). We spent a lot of time in bed, frankly, alternately drinking Mimosas and napping. With my not feeling well and his constantly driving all the way down to see me, we were both a tad lacking in the energy department. We did manage to walk downtown and have brunch at my favorite Mexican place and do some window shopping and stuff...then we came home and went back to bed. Oh yeah, we also ate some yummy treats we picked up. Best damn German Chocolate Cake ever, peeps. Yeah, I know...We're a wild a crazy couple. ~~~ Reality tv is just such a blast these days, what? Joe Millionaire was simply priceless last night. All kinds of people have already commented on the "make-out sub-titles"; about MoJo's $1 million check written out to herself and her subsequent claims of caring nothing about money; and about the other Melissa's heart-warming confession to being a "mercenary" whose only desire is to get rich so she can go give third world kids "shots". Therefore, I won't bother making more comments. Hee. :) Let me just say, though, that Melissa is very lucky Joe is such an idiot that he had no idea what "mercenary" actually means...Oh what a fun time I had last night! It's pretty sad, really; so much of the enjoyment I get out of life these days is making fun of morons on reality television. And let me just say something else...if some seemingly filthy rich and crazy cute dude was asking me where I would spend his millions, I'd have a far more concrete answer than "go to third world countries to like give kids shots and stuff...because I'm a mercenary." I've spent my nonexistent Lotto winnings numerous times and have plenty of plans for that dough, baby. Speaking of the California Lottery...it's up to $88 million tonight! I may just have to buy a ticket...I've heard that actually playing improves your chances of winning enormously. |
