I am eating Orange Hostess Cupcakes for breakfast as I write this. I never knew there was such a thing, until this morning. There is always lots of chocolatie goodness in our vending machines at work. Unless, of course, I am actually in need of some chocolatie goodness, in which case there is nothing but Hostess Lemon Pies, Orange Cupcakes and packs of mints. I shoulda had some popcorn. Or I could have eaten the yogurt that I brought to work specifically to have for breakfast, but you know, yogurt has no emotionally nutritional value. Two other rarities occurred in the last twenty-four hours. 1) We had thunder and lightning storms in So. Cal. last night, which was way cool (except not so cool to that kid in Long Beach who was struck by lightning) 2) I wore make-up to work today. Due to yesterdays car-fiasco, my beloved sister Linda brought me to work this morning. Because I wanted to make sure I was ready in plenty of time so as not to make her wait for me, I woke up especially early and I was ready, boy howdy - like half an hour early. So I decided to put on a little bit of make-up. Ive now been at work half an hour and have heard three comments about the fact that I have eye lashes. I havent heard anything about my car, yet, but I hadnt anticipated hearing anything yet because the dealership didnt even get their hands on it until 3:00 yesterday. I figured they wouldnt have time to look at it. It is a bummer to have my relatively-new car break down on me, but in truth I really am blessed. I am really lucky that it didnt break down in the fast lane on the freeway, with hundreds of SUVs barreling down on me at 75 mph. Instead, I conveniently broke down in front of a gas station, was able to pull over to the side of the road and out of traffic and then two guys helped me push the car in to the parking lot. Plus, I have people I can turn to in times such as these, like my sister Linda. To top it off, Im 99% sure that whatever is wrong with my car will be covered under warranty, so I shouldnt even have to pay for anything. Or I should say, Id better not have to pay for anything. I will say, there are so many signs that I should not have bought my cute little Nissan last year, its not even funny. I think they are all signs from God that I should have bought a hybrid vehicle. Ive been feeling guilty about not having bought a hybrid for a year, now. I considered buying a hybrid, but didnt want to buy one during their first year of making them. I am always wary of new vehicles like that, for good reason (it sometimes takes a while to work out the initial kinks in a car). And they did make a lot of changes to both the Toyota and the Honda versions for their 2003 model. Unfortunately, I couldnt wait a year to buy a new car. It is a cute little car, though. And I look damn cute driving it. And what else really matters, in the great, vast scheme of things? |
