Since my cable is acting all funky, I didnt get to tape the first episode of Sex and the City for Amy (which I was planning on because then after Ive taped a bunch of them she and her friend Marina are going to come over for a Sex and the City/martini party). Im bummed. Theyre coming out to fix it on Wednesday, so Ill be able to tape the second episode onand of course their coming out to fix it means I have to block off half of my day to sit and wait for the cable guy. Ergh

So this weekend I fed my tv jones with a steady supply of Trading Spaces. I guess that must have inspired me a little cuz yesterday I primed the walls of about half of my kitchen (my kitchen is basically two little rooms and I did one of them). Therefore, Ill be able to finish painting that half this week and hopefully get the other half primed. Most of the walls have already been stripped, which is the hardest part. Little by little Im getting this thing done, even if it kills me! The kitchen and the bathroom are the hard ones, cuz I had to strip away all the old paint (which isnt done in the bathroom, yet only about stripped). Stripping is a pain in the patootie.

I also still have to paint the living room, but even though its the biggest room in the pad it wont be terribly hard cuz all I have to do is clean the walls and then paint. Ill probably ask Amy and maybe Linda to come over for that one so we can just get it done fast, all in one day. I just want to get the kitchen done first so I can put everything away (right now most of my kitchen stuff is littering my living room). I also still need to strip and paint all of my doors (closet doors, room doors), and the windows in my bedroom, plus I still need to finish the trim in my dining room, but those are little things I can do like one at a time. I just need to actually DO them, ya know? :-)

What, you may be asking, have I actually completed? :-) Actually, quite a lot: My dining room, aside from the trim (which is more than half-way done); my bedroom, aside from the windows and doors; the hallway, which is extremely long; and my second bedroom/office, aside from the doors. Thats actually quite a lot, considering I am one person who has maybe two hours a night to work on this stuff and my weekends are usually booked pretty solid.

John and I had a nice weekend. He came down Friday night, of course. Saturday we went to breakfast at Hofs and walked around a bit downtown (including a stop at the Rubber Tree to check out sexual fun-stuff), then we came home and took a nap. Then we ate a piece of Hofs yummy chocolate strawberry truffle cake (my FAVE!) and then went to the mall. He was going to buy me one of those high-tech air-purifiers from Sharper Image, but theyre so expensive. I told him to wait until 8/15 and we can pool our funds to buy one then. So he settled for buying one for my car and one for his (the man does like to spend his dough). He also bought a new cell phone. We stopped on the way home at Steak-O-Rama (Belmont Shore just has the best-named restaurants ever and Steak-O-Rama and Phuket Thai top the list). We were also going to then go to the movies, but we went home for a little while and both ended up with a slight case of the runs so we opted to stay home. The only thing we ate in common was the cake from Hofs and I absolutely REFUSE to believe it was the cake that gave us the squirts!

Yesterday, John spent a few hours at his sisters (while I painted). When he came home we took another walk downtown so I could go to Rite Aid. Then we ordered a pizza and relaxed until he had to leave. The nice thing was he got to leave at a semi-decent hour (just after 7pm), so he didnt get home so God-awful late, like he has been.

Hey, my boss just invited me to an Angel game for Wed. night. New Age evidently has a box and all of the Directors and the owners are going and they have a couple of extra tickets. Actually, he said that Eric, the Director of Sales, asked him to invite me. Groovy-cool. Unfortunately, that is also the day I have to come in late due to my ongoing cable-nightmare, so I will not be able to work late in order to make up some lost time. Good thing I rarely have enough work to do, anyway.
