"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Robert called in sick today, so Ive been busier than usual. Nothing major and actually its been nice to have my plate full. It doesnt happen very often at this job.

Yesterday, a gal from Dun & Bradstreet took him and me out to lunch. We went to the Yard House and I had the BEST chicken rice bowl. I have no idea why it was so much better than most, but it was. I get to have the leftovers tonight.

Monday (actually early Tues. morning), I was woken up at 1:49am by someone crying rather hysterically. After listening for several minutes, I figured out it was the gal who lives in the apartment below me. By that time, the crying was starting to taper off, but I was very concerned. I didnt know if it was just her crying that woke me up, or if perhaps she had screamed or what. It was obvious that this was no small issue, by the way she was crying. I debated calling the Police, even, but decided not to. Then, of course, I was extremely concerned that I should have and didnt. For all I knew, someone had broken in to their place or her boyfriend/husband (whatever he is) was beating her up; I had no idea. Anyway, so I stopped by their place last night when I got home. I talked to the guy (Cody, I think) and he told me everything was OK and thanked me for my concern. I havent seen her, yet, though. For all I know he may have buried her under the building.

Im joking, of course. He seems like a really nice guy and Im sure it was just something personal. It was rather odd, though. Now I know they must have heard me the times Ive woken up screaming (thats happened a few times usually I think theres a man in the room. Its getting much better than it was for a few years, there, but it still happens every once in a while).

I have been considering finding a church in my area to attend. Ive found a few options and although I wont be going this weekend, Im going to go the following Sunday, I think. I guess Ill just play musical churches until I find one I like. Ive checked out a few web pages, too. Some seem cool, but a few things on the pages pissed me off (same reason churches always do intolerance and the like). I dont know Ill see. If I can find one I like, I dont really see any reason I wont go.

Regarding Message Boards, Chat Rooms and the like

I find it extremely interesting that whenever you read message boards or enter a chat room, no matter what the topic is supposed to be, people always end up calling each other names and insulting each other. What the heck? Why is that? I hate to be cynical, but man, there are an awful lot of assholes in this world. I mean its bad enough that there are so many on the road, but at least they have the excuse of being stressed because theyrewell, on the road. But to go to a message board, say for underwater basket-weaving enthusiasts and persist in calling other posters idiots or whatever, just seems so odd to me. I dont understand the venom.

Case in point: earthlinksucks.com. I read some message boards on that site and there are a few people who just went on there to tell others that theyre dumb-asses and idiots, etc. Same thing with classmates.com. Its the same thing everywhere.

The older I get, the more the human race makes me want to vomit.
