We can all relax. The ikss is not reproducing. And now...an email eavesdrop (warning - there's a bit of grossness to this entry. Squeamish readers may want to avoid the below): -----Original Message----- From: Barbara Sent: Monday, January 19, 2004 8:13 AM To: karen Subject: Re: Gore on the Environment Yes, babe, I heard it several times. Go Al. Like I said, I would rather vote for him than any of these other guys. You should see this article on the problem in the Appalacians (I don't know how to spell that!) caused by Bush changes in the mining policies there. It was on the front page on the Times yesterday. I cut it out for Mom. I can't figure out how in the world so many people say they will vote for him again. He gets trashed all over the place! Have a good Monday morning. I'll talk to you later. b -----Original Message----- From: Karen Sent: Monday, January 19, 2004 10:23 AM To: Barbara Subject: Re: Gore on the Environment Good morning! And how are you? How was the trip? How is Arnie feeling? How are the kiddies and Theresa? How many questions can I ask in this email? :) I got MAYBE two hours of sleep last night. Sondra and I decided to go to brunch at Le Creperie yesterday. Yummy. I just had a strawberry and banana crepe; Sondra had an omelet that looked great. The initial plan was to go to the mall so I could spend my Robinsons-May Gift Certificate, but after brunch I just didnt want to go all the way out to the mall. So instead, we walked around 2nd Street, window shopping (OK, I bought a blouse which was on sale at Banana Republic to technically we werent just window-shopping). So THEN we decided to go have a Margarita at Panama Joes. We ended up having three Margaritas and didnt leave until like 8:00pm. They had the football games on a bunch of screens and there were a lot of people there and stuff. It was fun. Since the drinks were all spread out over seven hours, I caught barely a buzz, but I cant drink that much Tequila, ya know? I had heartburn all night long and nothing to help get rid of it. Its been so long since I had heartburn, the last time I ran out of Tums I just didnt bother buying any more. I dont even have any milk in the house right now! Ergh...anyway, Im also having a very heavy period and was pretty much hemorrhaging all night long, also, so had to get up like three time just to attend to that little problem. I was also starving all night long because the only thing I had eaten was that crepe and some chips and salsa at PJs. I had a couple celery stalks at like 10:00pm, just to try to stave off the hunger pangs...that didnt help, much. Anyway, it was a rough night, but I am fine nowjust very, very tiredI was still so freakin hungry this morning that I drove thru Carls Jr. and got a burger. DamnI havent had a drive-thru burger in a long-ass time, baby. It was gooooooood. So obviously, John didnt come down this weekend. He was supposed to, but he really messed up his back at work on Friday. :( Sounds like the same thing that used to happen to him a lot, where his hips shift to one side. He couldnt find a Chiropractor or even a Massage place open over the weekend. His boss finally sent him to a Chiropractor this morning. All he did today was an Ultrasound. He said Johns muscles were way too swollen for him to do an actual adjustment yet. He has those 800 mg. Ibuprofens, though, and the Chiropractor told him to take on e of those, four times a day. John is then going back on Wednesday and hopefully they can adjust him then. Poor guy. :( Anyway, so Saturday I lay around a lot and then finally took a long walk in the afternoon. Then a took a long, hot bath. Ah...:) Anyway, Have a great day. Talk to ya later! Regards, Karen ~~~ Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think of the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the twin towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. And if you look for it, I've got a sneaking suspicion that love actually is all around. --from 'Love Actually' ~~~ Word of the Day for Monday January 19, 2004 bilious BIL-yuhs, adjective: 1.
