APRIL 14--Air America, summarily booted today off stations in Los Angeles and Chicago for reportedly bouncing a check, is seeking a legal injunction that would return the fledgling liberal network to the airwaves. Air America filed (this) breach of contract lawsuit this afternoon in New York State Supreme Court. The complaint alleges that Multicultural Radio Broadcasting, which owns WNTD in Chicago and KBLA in Santa Monica, improperly yanked the network from its Windy City perch over a dispute involving the California station. Air America, which contends that it has "paid all amounts due" for the leasing of airtime on WNTD, has petitioned for a temporary restraining order that would return shows like "The O'Franken Factor" to the dial. ~~~ See? We Liberals never have any money. The upshot is that Ive lost 7 lbs. on my I-have-no-money-with-which-to-buy-food diet. OK, yes...the assertion that I have no money is a slight exaggeration. Its just that I have so little of it that I havent wanted to spend any on such silly incidentals as food. Luckily, today is pay day, so I am off to Trader Joes after work. But I really have lost 7 lbs. Seven more and Ill be back down to my usual weight...at which point I will no doubt obsess additionally and continue to want to lose even more weight. Because I am that nut job who is never happy with her body. Which is interesting, really, since I dont have a problem with my body when it counts you know, like when Im naked and laying next to some hunky dude. Thats one thing I like about myself, actually. As much as I stress over my body image, Ive never been shy around men in the sack, or felt unattractive at those times. That would really suck. And not in the good way. ~~~ Word of the Day for Thursday April 15, 2004 privation pry-VAY-shun, noun: 1. An act or instance of depriving. 2.
