somebody out there loves me

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."
--Theodore Roosevelt, 1918

I hate to jump on bandwagons, but..well...this is me, a'jumpin'.

1. A song whose lyrics you thought you knew in the past, but about which you later learned you were incorrect.
That Petrol Emotion Mess of Words. I thought when they were saying, Watch me bleed they were saying Wash me clean

The cool thing is, when I realized I had the lyrics wrong, I took the ones I thought were correct and incorporated them in to the chorus for my own song, Wild Little World. I figured, hey, I like these lyrics and since it turns out this guy didnt write em, I may as well!

2. Your least favorite song on one of your favorite albums of all time.
Born in the U.S.A onwellBorn in the U.S.A.

3. A song you like by someone you find physically unattractive or otherwise repellent.
Well, this ones rather easy for me, since I happen to be a huge fan of Elvis Costello, Lyle Lovett and Tom Waitsalthough really, their immense talent makes them far less repellant to me than Im sure I would find them were they just hanging around say, squeezing melons at the market.

Oh and I find Mick Jagger to be extremely physically repellent, but I love the Rolling Stones as much as anybodyoh and Neil Youngof course, George Jones and Conway Twitty also come to mind.

Truthfully, its a really good thing rock and roll came along or a whole lot of dudes out there would never have found a date.

4. Your favorite song with the name of a city in the title or text.
Ventura Highway by America it always reminds me of going to the beach, when I was little.

5. A song you've listened to repeatedly when you were depressed at some point in your life.
Things Could Turn Around by fIREHOSE

6. Ever buy an entire album just for one song and wind up disliking everything but that song? Gimme that song.
I Drove All Night Cindy Laupers version (which so is much better than Celine stinkin Dions that Celine should be extradited to Canada and forced to stand trial for mutilating a piece of art)

7. Your favorite song that has expletives in it that's not by Liz Phair.
Oh my, there are so many these daysIm going to have to take a cue from blofeld and go with Kyles Mom is a Big Fat Bitch by Eric Cartman on South Park.

8. A song that sounds as if it's by someone British but isn't.
Me, singing along to anything by Squeeze, because you just have to sing their songs with a British accent or they dont sound right.

9. A song you like (possibly from your past) that took you forever to finally locate a copy of.
I never have found a copy of the theme song from La Verne and Shirley

10. A song that reminds you of spring but doesn't mention spring at all.
Canadian Railroad Trilogy by Gordon Lightfoot

11. A song that sounds to you like being happy feels.
Out in the Street by Bruce Springsteen and Kiss Me on the Bus by the Replacements

12. Your favorite song from a non-soundtrack compilation album.
Makes No Difference by The Band. Another artist put together a compilation of songs she likes and sold it at Starbucks and this is on it.

13. A song from your past that would be considered politically incorrect now (and possibly was then).
Los Angeles and/or Johnny Hit and Run Pauline by X because nobody seems to understand the concept of irony or sarcasm anymoreof course theres always Brown Sugar by the Rolling Stones, tooor, you know, any one of a hundred Stones songs that are really rather offensive when you take the time to listen to their lyrics. So I rarely take that time.

14. A song sung by an overweight person.
Never Say Never by Romeo Void, whose lead singer ratherumhefty.

15. A song you actually like by an artist you otherwise hate.
I know theres a song by N Sync that I like, but frankly I cant remember the name of it (guess I must not like it that much).

16. A song by a band (whose members actually play instruments) that features three or more female members.
Dizzy by Throwing Muses

17. One of the earliest songs that you can remember listening to.
Silence is Golden by the Four Seasons

18. A song you've been mocked by friends for liking.
Id Like to Make it With You by Bread

19. A really good cover version you think no one else has heard.
Perhaps I should have kept I Drive All Night by Cindy Lauper for this question, cuz even her version was a cover. Or theres Melissa Etheridges version of Leader of the Pack but I dont think its ever appeared on an album.

20. A song that has helped cheer you up (or empowered you somehow) after a breakup or otherwise difficult situation.
Already Gone by The Eagles and Youre No Good by Linda Ronstadt (which could also be un the Im embarrassed to admit I like it category)

21. What was the last song you downloaded?
I dont download.
