Well, lookie herefollowing on the heels of last weeks letter from my old roommate, I just received a call from an old friend, Marina. I havent seen Marina is about four years. I send her (and her family shes married, with two kids) Christmas cards every year, but thats really the extent of our friendship these days. I used to work with Marina at the Credit Union of Hell. Anyway, among the many things we discussed was the goings-on in the life of another old friend: Jeni. Jeni is the one I went to Paris with, oh those many moons ago. And Jeni has been living quite a life in the four years since Ive seen her. Aside from having moved to Seattle and developing a small following as a radio news/side-kick gal, she has been through a live-in boyfriend and is now the Personal Assistant to a D-list television personality, while she tries to get acting and/or voiceover jobs. The kickerShe dated Carrottop. Twice. And apparently, she still hooks up with him when hes in town. Not only did she date Carrottop, you guys she pursued him. She liked him on t.v. and hounded him down after an appearance on Hollywood Squares or something. Then, a little while later, she saw him on the street, saw which hotel he was walking in to and called him there. He remembered having met her after his Hollywood Squares gig (you know remembered her out of what Im sure must amount to the throng of Carrottop groupies surrounding him at the time) and asked her out on a date. Aside from being just an extremely funny story, that whole tale makes me slightly sick to my stomach. Also, I keep forgetting to mention that my niece Sarahs boyfriend, Chris, has gone off to Chicago to film a movie in which he plays the lead character. Apparently, its a Psychological Thriller (Sarah described it to me as a Horror flick and promptly sent Chris in to an apoplectic fit by doing so). Anyway, that was exciting news and I just kept forgetting to make note of it. And dont forget theres another entry from today, before this one. |
