gutterpoets latest note made me laugh hysterically this morning

(How many days is that in a row now? Three? Four? If I manage this through ten, do I get a prize?)

Received in an email this morning

This was written by Andy Rooney from CBS 60 Minutes.

Andy Rooney says:

As I grow in age, I value women who are over 30 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 30 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 30 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do. And, it's usually something more interesting.

A woman over 30 knows herself well enough to be assured in who she is, what she is, what she wants and from whom. Few women past the age of 30 give a damn what you might think about her or what she's doing.

Women over 30 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

A woman over 30 has the self-assurance to introduce you to her women friends. A younger woman with a man will often ignore even her best friend because she doesn't trust the guy with other women. Women over 30 couldn't care less if you're attracted to her friends because she knows her friends won't betray her.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 30. They always know.

A woman over 30 looks good wearing bright red lipstick. This is not true of younger women or drag queens. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 30 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one! You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 30 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed hot woman of 30+, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22 year-old waitress.

Ladies, I apologize.

Andy Rooney

PS - For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?" Here's an update for you. Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage, why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage.

My birthday isnt for another 15 days, but here is some helpful information anyway, so you all can get to know Your Author a bit...

** All About Libra

You, Libra, are a smiling representative of the planet Venus -- the planet that represents love, beauty, harmony and cooperation. As such, you're always ready to do what you can to smooth things over, make peace and bring warring factions together. It's not an easy job, but you're good at it -- really good. When you're with people you love, there's nothing you wouldn't do to keep them happy. You never barge through the door first, take the last piece of turkey on the plate or forget to write thank-you notes promptly. You're the person we all think of first when we're planning a party -- or any social event, for that matter.

Contrary to popular opinion, however, you don't drift peacefully from one 'balanced' situation to the next. If you did, you'd never learn your real job: restoring balance. Libras aren't born with that knack -- they're born being able to learn how to fix the scales in any situation when they're out of whack. That makes you an expert at bringing peace and harmony to even the most unbalanced situations. It's not an easy job, and you're often more worried about it than you'll let on. Being born with the ability to see both sides of an issue isn't always a gift -- especially when someone calls on you for an opinion.

You need to realize (especially when it comes to relationships) that keeping the peace at all times just isn't always possible, no matter how hard you try. Still, we can't do any better than you for a partner. You're devoted -- sometimes even to a fault -- and always willing to change your plans to fit what your beloved wants to do. Just be sure not to lose yourself (or your friends, who could get tired of waiting around) in the process. Since you're so lovely to be around, however, you'll never be alone if you don't want to be. You're as social as a sign could possibly be, and adored by one and all.

And now that well have the below on record, we can see how accurate it is in the coming month:

** Your Starcast for September 22 - October 22

There's a lot going on in the stars these next few weeks. Read on for the lowdown on the most important events -- you might want to print this email out for guidance!

Sept 22: Sun into Libra

A delightful month is en route, thanks to the bright, shiny Sun, who'll take off for polite, partner-oriented Libra today. This charming meeting of pride and lavish displays of affection can't help but put us all in the mood to partner up and be extra sweet to everyone we love. You won't want to do anything alone -- but then, you definitely won't have to. You'll also be willing to go completely overboard to compromise, cooperate and mediate any disputes you happen to be privy to. Better nap as much as you can, because there are lots of long late-night chats at the kitchen table ahead of you.

Sept. 24: Venus trine Pluto

Pleasure-loving Venus is about to meet up in an easy trine with seductive, controlling Pluto -- which means the two will be more than happy to bring focus and determination into all your encounters. Needless to say, whatever you're feeling, you'll feel it to the nth degree now. That goes for love, lust and happiness -- but also for the other side of the coin. So if you suddenly get depressed, don't give in. Call a friend and talk it out, or do something that will completely absorb you. Oh, and these two aren't bad for awakening the libido, either ....

Sept 25: Jupiter into Libra

Remember that old phrase, '...and there was much rejoicing in the kingdom?' Well, there's going to be a lot of that kind of thing going on for the next entire year. Jupiter, that benevolent Santa Claus of the Heavens, is about to step into charming, partner-oriented Libra -- and this, friends, is the stuff that grand displays of love are made of. For the next twelve months, if you're with someone you love, they'll know all about it -- and so will you. Romance and passion will be everywhere. Make the most of it.

Sept 28: Full Harvest Moon in Aries

If ever there was a perfect time to get up and go, this is it. For starters, the Moon, that lovely silver orb, has waxed to her fullest -- an energetic time for all of us. But this time out, she's wearing fiery, assertive Aries, the sign that most loves to get the show on the road no matter where that show might be heading. If you've got a project to put into motion, don't hesitate a single moment longer. Put all your energy into it (which will be considerable now) and rest assured that you can't help but succeed. All you need to do is to rally up the oomph to get started. So what's the holdup?

This full Moon will especially influence those of you born under the cardinal signs, particularly Libras born September 26-30, Capricorns born December 24-28, Aries born March 23-27 and Cancers born June 24-28.

Sept 28: Mercury into Libra

Mercury is the messenger of the gods, the planet in charge of how we communicate. This chatty guy will take off for charming Libra for the next two weeks, putting everyone in a wonderfully cooperative, extremely civil frame of mind. Does this mean you'll end up exchanging sweet nothings with someone dear to you? Absolutely. It may also mean that you'll put an end to that long-term dispute you've been dealing with for months, or maybe even years. Oh, let it go. It's more fun to be nice.

Oct. 3: Venus into Virgo

After weeks of inspiring us all to strut our stuff, show off whenever possible and indulge in lavish public displays of affection, lovely Venus is off for discreet, modest Virgo -- quite a different 'costume' for the goddess of love. Suddenly, it will seem far more natural to keep our emotions to ourselves, whisper instead of shout and toss shy glances, not stare brazenly across the room. Don't worry, though: this doesn't mean romance will come to a standstill. It only means that you'll be far more interested in time alone than you were before.

Oct 5: Sun Conjunct Mercury, Sun and Mercury Trine Neptune

Idealistic Neptune will connect with both the proud Sun and brainy Mercury today, which means it's time to dream big dreams and to put together a plan to make them come true. You can do this, and you know it. Your only problem will be making it happen fast enough, because you won't be running especially high on patience. That will be quite clear to others, thanks to your ability to let them know in just a few choice phrases that you'd prefer it if they'd just cut to the chase. Go easy on anyone who's not as intellectually keen as you are. It's only fair.

Oct 6: Venus Opposes Uranus

You know that thing you thought was absolutely in the bag? Well, prepare yourself -- because that's the very last thing that will happen. Loving Venus and startling Uranus will get together to make monetary and romantic last-minute changes the norm. Now, that may not seem to be much fun initially, but if you loosen up and just let the universe drive, you'll be amazed at whom you'll meet -- and where you'll meet them. Go with the flow. It's really your best option right now.

Oct. 14: New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse in Libra

Relationships are the issue of the hour, and they're going to provide us all with quite a few surprises. For example, if you're attached, you may rediscover the original fire that brought you together -- or you may decide that this just isn't working and it's time to let go. The good news is that you'll be more than happy to let the relationship change rather than ending it altogether, so you may end up with a lifelong friend as a result. If you're single? Don't turn down an opportunity to meet someone a dear friend says is 'just perfect' for you -- no matter what happened last time. Who knows? This time, they may be right.

This new Moon will especially influence those of you born under the cardinal signs, particularly Libras born October 11-15, Capricorns born January 10-14, Aries born April 9-13 and Cancers born July 12-16.

Oct. 15: Mercury into Scorpio

For the next couple of weeks, thanks to thoughtful Mercury's entry into intense, demanding Scorpio, you won't be willing to settle for anything less than everything when it comes to information. You'll stop at nothing to find what you're after, digging through piles of files and paperwork and you'll definitely find the answers you want. Just try not to become obsessed, or stay up all night wondering about the hidden meanings of a friend's seemingly innocent comment. It just might be totally innocent! Keep your mind busy and you won't fall into this trap.

Oct. 20: Venus Square Pluto

The green-eyed monster is on the loose. If you're at all prone to being jealous, or you're keeping company with someone who answers to that description, better prepare yourself -- this could be a tricky time to navigate. Money matters may also be a bit problematic, especially if you're trying to get a loan, or trying to get one paid off. Still, you'll benefit from the depth of your emotions, and from how well you'll get to know yourself and your true motivations. All you have to do is to pay attention to how intensely you react, and to whom -- and then figure out why.

Enjoy the Sun's transit of Libra!

Best,
