Theres a bit of funniness going on these days in our fair Governors mansion. Seems the Ahnold is a bit peeved over someone creating a bobble-head doll in his image and he is suing in order that the manufacturer cease and desist creation of the offending dolls.

A) I want one of them dolls now more than ever.

B) Apparently, Arnold thinks he should be the first politician ever to be free from the threat of caricature.

I wouldnt even have mentioned this nonsense, except that Brian Flemming has now published a book in which he basically dares Arnolds lawyer to sue him, as well, for using (naked) images of Arnold. Kinda funny.

So the Cartoon Network, in their infinite wisdom, has moved my beloved Family Guy from weeknights at 11pm to weeknights at 11:30pm. This half an hour makes such a HUGE difference! Most of the time, I fall asleep half-way thru the show now. Sucks! And I dont know what has happened to Arrested Development. When was the last time that show was even on?

In other television news - The Sopranos totally rocks this year! If this is the last season, theyre going out with a bang, boy howdy.

Barbara called me from Santa Fe this morning and we talked for half an hour. This is actually the second time shes called me from her trip. Ive been very glad for her calls because I miss her, terribly. In fact, the first time she called me last week I wasnt around so she left a message on my voice mail. I actually cried when I listened to it I was so bummed that I had missed her call. How gross is that? Luckily for me, she called me back later in the day. :) Theyre having a great time, of course, and will be home on Friday.

I still havent been able to see the possibly-new apartment. I did verify that Darla received my note about my interest in it, but she is still in the process of moving, so I of course told her Id wait til she was all settled in and had time to show it to me. Im just anxious...I assume I will move (I really dont see any reason why it wont happen), but I dont really want to start packing or anything, because its all totally up in the air. But if I get to move on June 1, as I hope to, I really need to start packing.

When thinking about it, it doesnt seem like I have a whole lot of stuff to pack, especially since I already started getting stuff organized and in to boxes when I was getting ready for the yard sale back in December. But I know how these things work. I will have one hundred times more stuff than Im thinking I have. And Im kicking myself, thinking about all of the empty boxes around work that I have left unclaimed over the past few weeks, when I could have had them.

It just suddenly occurred to me that I probably posted a piece of mail this morning sans postage. Something tells me it wont get to its intended destination before Thursday, which I had initially hoped.

This morning I woke up with a small case of the squirts. Small yes, but the illness still managed to make me about fifteen minutes late for work, actually. I think the root cause of my stomach disorder was...too many cookies.

Last week, I made the HUGE mistake of buying two boxes of Famous Amos cookies (one box chocolate chip, one box pecan/chocolate chip), because they were on sale and because I happen to have a fondness for Famous Amos cookies.

Um...somehow, I have managed to work my way through both boxes.

So yeah...my assumption is Ive been eating too much junk food and it caught up with me in the form of morning diarrhea.

Chad, the valet-paying guy from last week called me on Sunday and left me a message. I returned his call yesterday evening and had to leave him a message. So we haven't actually spoken, yet. The other guy from that night called, too, but I havent yet returned his call. I will...I don't want to be rude or anything; I just don't really care much about talking to him.

I have really been wanting to go to Disneyland, people. And now that summer is rapidly approaching, if I dont go soon I wont go until the fall (I hate to go in the heat and I REALLY hate to go when its super-crowded, as it is all summer long). I may have to force John to go with me soon...

Speaking of which - if/after I move, I am going to take John away for a little mini-trip somewhere. I asked him to give me a list of which holidays he has off, plus I think he gets a week off in July. Apparently, his boss takes a week off every year and closes the shop for that week. Since John is new, he wont be paid for that week this year (which really sucks), but in future he will be. Since I am planning on paying for this trip, as a way to show him my appreciation for all he has done for me in the past couple of years, I may not be able to take him anywhere fancy or for longer than like three or four days. But Im considering a few options...If nothing else, we can meet in Pismo Beach for a weekend (which we used to do quite often), but Id like to do something a bit more than that and maybe go somewhere new to us.

And now for something completely different...I am not going to talk about our troops and how some of them are behaving in Iraq, even though I know its a huge topic of discussion right now. The thing is, I have little to say about it all. I am not surprised that this is going on this goes on all the time, by our guys (and gals), by theirs it goes on. This is part of why war is hell, this is part of why I was against the war in the first place. So really, theres nothing more I can say about it now that we have proof of war atrocities being committed.

Howeverpandionna wrote about it all very well. I share her anger, I share her disgust; I share her pessimism over what will probably not happen to the people at fault. Her entry is well worth reading.

How Kerry Can Beat Bush in Five Easy Steps - Priceless, true and boy howdy I hope John Kerry is reading!
