So where were we?

When last I checked in (aside from that last, lust-filled entry of no other consequence), it was Valentines Day and that sweet guy I like to call My Sexual Plaything had sent me flowers.

Sorry, I don't mean to gloat. I just had to mention it again because frankly, I am still waiting for those facts to sink in.

Ive been busy, as should be obvious by the fact that I havent written in over a week. Just unheard of for me. So heres whats been going on, in no order other than how the topics skip to the front of my brain:

1. A story about Ed Rosenthal was on an episode of Dateline. Sadly, I missed it. I knew it was on and had planned on watching, but got involved watching something else and totally missed this segment of the show. Knowing me, I was most likely watching some stupid reality-t.v. show instead of getting the scoop on a relevant topic I consider to be of the utmost importance.

2. Its been raining again. Weve received a nice downpour over the past couple of days and its snowed in our local mountains. Very nice. Of course, some mud has been slipping and sliding, but all things considered, the mud-slides and floods havent been bad this year. Knock wood.

3. I have out-patient surgery to remove the cyst on March 20.

4. John did not visit the weekend following Valentines Day. His car broke down on the way here and he couldnt get the part he needed (Fuel Pump) until the following Monday. I was bummed but was also thankful because he broke down right outside of Santa Cruz rather than out in the middle of nowhere, which was a distinct possibility. There are areas on his drive where even his cell phone doesnt work, so all things considered we got lucky.

5. Last weekend, he did come down. We spent Saturday goofing around, briefly shopping for a birthday gift for Amy and dining at Lucilles which was tres yummy. We took Amy to Gladstones on Sunday in celebration of her 26th birthday. Another great meal and a fine time, over all. Barbi, Arnett, CJ and our friend Alisa also came.

6. I have been on a diet in an effort to rid myself of the pounds which found me over the holidays and just to get back to eating healthier in general. So far, so good. Well, except that part of this diet has been a dramatic increase in my fiber intake...I've been spending an inordinate amount of time on the potty...

7. I have been planning a trip for Memorial Weekend. So far, the plan is to spend it in Mendocino, which is on the California coast, north of San Francisco. Its a beautiful area and they have several state parks in the vicinity as well as wineries. I just cant get John to tell me if he prefers to make it a pampering (read: "expensive") weekend or a budget one. He can be so irritating when it comes to stuff like this. He doesnt understand the concept that if you want to go somewhere, especially on a holiday weekend, you really need to make RESERVATIONS. Im all for spontaneity, mind you, but its not real easy to be spontaneous on Memorial Day Weekend and expect to have a bed to sleep in.

8. The Lakers seem to be back on track, thank Christ. I told everyone not to worry about them until after the All-Star break, but people have so little faith.

9. My resident ghost up-ended one of my coffee cups a while back. John was there so I wasn't the only one who saw it...although, he actually only heard it. Here's what happened: I rinsed out a cup and set it upside down on my dish-drainer, knowing I was just going to use the same cup in a little while. I turned around and heard something (the sound of the cup being turned over; this is also what John heard). I turned back around and "someone" had turned the cup right side up while my back was turned. Oddly, I was the only person in the room...well, the only living person...

10. Today is my brother Larrys birthday. Happy birthday, ya big lug.

11. Today I am also bombarding my elected officials with requests not to get us in to a war without exhausting all peaceful efforts first. See this. I think you should do the same.

Other stuff has been going on, but in all honesty I don't have the emotional energy to go over it right now. In all, I am well and still in search of...well, just in search of.

**Ooh, I almost forgot. I also discovered Yoplait Whips. mmm-mmm-good, babies!
